Alon Ozer Discusses the Effect of Geopolitical Tensions on the Markets with Financial Advisor Magazine
After chaotic geopolitical tensions earlier this week, the stock market is persevering. Financial Advisor Magazine recently spoke with Omnia Family Wealth Chief Investment Officer Alon Ozer to learn more.
According to Ozer, investors are already moving away from the fear of war that followed the Trump administration’s actions against Iranian general Qassim Suleimani and Iran’s retaliation of non-lethal airstrikes. While he does explain that there was a brief time when the world thought something terrible might erupt, those sentiments did not last, and the market has rebounded.
“Futures dropped at first but then leveled off,” said Ozer, noting that both sides made it known that none wanted war. “The markets reflected the fact that everything was going to be OK. We watch geopolitics very closely. At this point the market is going to go back to focusing on fundamentals.”
